Yard Sales
It’s becoming a cliché, but yard sales really are invaluable places to find products to sell on eBay. There are always yard sales available and there is no limit to the amount of things you can buy for cheap. Driving around on a weekend morning may be enough to find several sales, or check the paper for classified ads.
Going out of Business Sales
These have one of the largest potentials for people working from home to make money on eBay. Once a store, or any other type of company, goes out of business, they must get rid of things as quickly as possible. That usually means that they will sell things for far, far below even the wholesale price.
But don’t just stop at the store inventory – also look at the office furnishings and storage. Estate Auctions
Estate auctions and estate sales are two very different things. An estate sale is generally not the best place to pick up products to sell on eBay because people tend to overestimate the value of their loved one’s items and price them too high. An estate auction, however, is a much different story.
An auction will start with a low bid and has the potential to stay there. Not only can things be bought inexpensively, there is also a great potential for the items to be extremely valuable. Antiques and collectibles are almost always sold at estate auctions.
Thrift Stores
People who have not shopped at a thrift store for products to sell on eBay may have a poor opinion about their potential. Going into one and seeing it as a junk shop that might have an item you’re looking for is a far different endeavor than looking with an eye to what to sell on eBay. Look for collectibles and items that look like they are no longer made.
Small figurines, games from 20 years ago and items like them are in big demand on eBay. Also look for things in the shape of familiar animals- there are millions of collectors who love anything shaped like their favorite animal.
The best items to sell on eBay are ones that the seller can buy without going into debt and that have the potential to make a profit when they’re sold. And if they’re fun items that the seller will enjoy selling, it will make the whole process a lot more enjoyable.
